This glass tank is strengthened with enchanted wood allowing it to store vast amounts of vis or taint. You merely need to connect it to a conduit or vis source. Those tanks can explode if you put taint in them
Tanks may explode if they contain 450 or more taint, regardless of their vis content. (Obviously, there must be 50 or less vis present or there wouldn't be enough room for that much taint.) It's difficult to predict when; they may last only a few minutes or several in-game days. Once they blow, they will taint a random selection of taintable blocks within a 7x7x7 area and spew the entirety of their taint content into the aura.
If you want to deliberately create a self-perpetuating taint, you would have to explode up to 20 tanks, depending on the taint content of the target chunk. 12-15 is typical.

Uses[]
While not necessarily needed, storage tanks do allow you to store up Vis for later use. Hooking up a tank to a crucible directly or with Vis Conduits , will start to fill the tank from the crucible, Taint and all. This way, you can batch infuse objects you will be using a lot of, like nitor or alumentum.
Tanks can be stacked, one on top of the other and connected in a series provided you have adequate pressure to transport the Vis between them.
You can use vis tanks filled with taint to deliberately corrupt trees to be harvested for taint research. The 500 vis penalty isn't likely to begin corrupting the chunk, so the tainted blocks you don't harvest will gradually revert to normal. It is ill-advised, however, to do this repeatedly in the same chunk, without some aura scrubbing in between.
If you can filter out the Taint going into your tanks, you needn't worry about the tank exploding. This is a cheaper alternative than Thaumium Reinforced Tank to store taint and vis.
