Turmeric is a powdered spice obtained by grinding the root of the homonymous plant. It is a necessary ingredient in curries. As with rice, its presence in the home accelerates children's growth.

Turmeric is a spice that Hindu villages use as an ingredient in their chicken curry, as well as the much less nutritious vegetarian version. It is produced in the village spice garden, and you can buy it to plant yourself.
Growing conditions[]
Turmeric is planted by the village's Kisaans (landless peasants).
Turmeric must be planted in ploughed soil and will grow until the plant unfurls its two large leaves, a sign that it has reached maturity and can be harvested. A planted turmeric needs at least 1 block of air above it to grow, and grows all the faster when planted close to a source of water and sufficient light.
