Igniter contains information about the RedPower mod.
The Igniter improves on the concept of Flint and Steel inside of a Deployer. It harnesses the power of Netherrack to control the power of fire. Simply rotate it in the direction you want to ignite and supply a redstone signal to do so. Removing the signal will extinguish the flame. As of RedPower 2 Prerelease 5b2, Igniters can light and extinguish portals. The Igniter will not light things facing downward, and if the Igniter puts a flame on top of a material that is not netherrack, the fire will eventually go out, and will not be replaced unless the signal is turned off and on again.
(Note: A good way to keep the igniters on at all times is a state cell set to how long it takes for the fire to go out sending a redstone signal from the right to a repeater then having the signal circle around to the left to reset the count.)
