Supplies needed for creating one can of biofuel:
- 32 plant matter (saplings, wheat, seeds, sugar cane) (used up)
- 4 Tin Ore, or 2 and a Macerator (used up, 10 cells left over)
- 7 Tin Ore, or 4 and a Macerator, for the fuel can (reusable)
- Fuel for powering machines.
Machines needed:
- Crafting Table
- Compressor or Singularity Compressor
- Some kind of furnace for smelting. Optionally, a Macerator.
- Extractor or Centrifuge Extractor.
- Canning Machine
- A generator to power the machines.
Procedure for creating biofuel:
- Mine for supplies.
- Process the ore.
- Optional: Use a Macerator to double your yield.
- Smelt the tin ore or dust into ingots.
- Craft some Empty Cells. 4 Tin Ingots yield 16 empty cells, which will be consumed when used. You will need 6 empty cells per can of biofuel.
- Craft a Fuel Can.
- Craft 8 of the following types of items into 6 Plantballs. Mixing types in a single plantball will not work.
- Saplings (including IC rubber tree saplings, but not RedPower rubber tree saplings).
- Wheat
- Wheat seeds (but not Flax seeds)
- Sugar cane
- Turn the plantballs into Compressed Plantballs in a Compressor or Singularity Compressor.
- Craft 6 Bio Cells from Compressed Plantballs and Empty Cells.
- Use the Extractor to turn the Bio Cells into Biofuel Cells.
- Use the Canning Machine to fill the Fuel Can with biofuel. This will take 6 biofuel cells.
The resulting Fuel Can (Filled) can be used to power generators.
Biofuel is not truly renewable because of the need to use up tin in biofuel cells.
